Serving the community, building a better future
Chela's Community Partners Program is designed to build alliances between nonprofit organizations to help diverse, underserved students and families put education within reach by providing scholarship funding and educational resources. These organizations work with college-bound as well as current college students to assist them in pursuing and succeeding in college. Some of Chela's Community Partners receive scholarship funding for their students in addition to information and other types of assistance. The Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) team utilizes Chela for financial aid workshops and FAFSA line-by-line presentations.

We are regularly invited to participate in broad education initiatives. In 2005, we'll continue our commitment to Los Angeles' Mayor Hahn's Free Cash for College campaign and the California Student Aid Commission's College Goal Sunday programs.

"…Before this program, parents and students didn't know where to begin the process of getting to college. Now these students and their families believe higher education is within their reach."

I'm Going to College Program
In partnership with CASFAA, Chela administers this unique program for California elementary school children. It creates awareness of higher educational opportunities, encouraging young children to set their sights on college.

Community Partners
The organizations that comprise Chela's Community Partners continue to share our vision of putting education within reach of all who aspire and are committed to expanding educational opportunities for students and their families. The information and scholarship funding we provide to these educational entities and community groups supplements and enhances the work they do with students.
